Pamphlet Stitch Books with Sara Ottomano

Interested in sewing your own book but not sure where to start? This beginner bookmaking class is for you! During this workshop, learn how to sew books using the pamphlet stitch. Over the course of the class, you'll make two books, one with a soft cover and the other hardbound with fabric. You will also be given supplies that you can take home to continue making books.

In this class you will learn:

• Two types of pamphlet stitch bindings.

• How to create fabric covers for a bound book.

• How to use beeswax to aid in bookbinding.

Prerequisites: No bookbinding experience is necessary, although experience with hand sewing will be helpful.
